At Floridablanca National High School, a gift giving for local AETAS children distributed food, school supplies, books, slippers, sanitizers, and more to nearly 800 children sponsored by local women organizations and businesses including Zonta International, Local Rotary Club and Inner Wheel Clubs, and the All Nations Women Association. Kapampangan Development Foundation doctors and volunteers provided medical screenings, dental services, eye exams and medicines. Other partners hosted workshops for secondary students on Drug Abuse Awareness and Prevention, Teen Pregnancy and Early Marriage Prevention, and Ending Violence Against Women. Sunshine Family Volunteers also engaged teachers and their families in family volunteering. “I felt a human to human connection with the children,” said Shanti Tamang, Project Coordinator of Global Peace Women in Nepal.

Kapampangan Development (KD) Foundation hospitals, MVP and Jesus Datu, treated hundreds of patients through it’s Seeing Free, Walking Free, Hearing Free, Smiling Free programs and medical services.

Dr. Junsook Moon visited MVP hospital to participate in the groundbreaking ceremony of its new annex building and spend time with children, beneficiaries of KD Foundation’s Smiling Free program that provides children with cleft palate surgeries and speech therapy. “I want to thank the doctors and nurses for all your hard work,” said Dr. Moon, expressing encouragement for the growth of the foundation’s humanitarian work.

Women leaders showed their dedication to peace, cooperation and service in a day of action. As they served side-by-side the women of the Philippines and around the world formed lasting friendship and shared experience of becoming service-minded women.
