‘Mwanamke Hodari Awards’, (Strong Women in Swahili), Recognized the resilience, strength and character of remarkable women who are contributing to the advancement of peace and development. The award recognized women with disabilities, women in sports and women in the digital and creative sectors. The award recipients were hailed for their commitment to ensuring thriving communities for all, including people with disabilities. The guest of honor during the event was Sister Rose Marandu, the Director of Mwanamke Hodari Awards, 2023. Global Peace Women was a part of the organizing body that included the Global Peace Foundation, Women Fund Tanzania and was part of a series of programs to empower women with disabilities launched on International Women's Day 2023.
